Sarah is a governor of an NHS Foundation Trust, providing mental health, learning disability and neurodevelopmental services to people of all ages. Sarah is also an entrepreneur, Conservative campaigner and Councillor.
Sarah grew up on a council estate and remembers the winter of discontent with its regular power cuts and having to do her homework by candlelight.
When she was 10, her parents bought their first home with the help of Margaret Thatcher’s government. Sarah saw first-hand the importance of home ownership and the danger of overly powerful unions.
At 18, Sarah left school and started working full time. Later, she was able to buy her first house, where she raised her family. Sarah spent 15 years working at Royal Sun Alliance in various IT roles.
In 2003, she took a career break to be a full time mum. Returning to work, Sarah started a chocolate company which she grew from a table top business into a nationally recognised brand.
Sarah is a councillor and Area Chairman of the Conservative Women's Organisation.
"I'm delighted to be my Party's candidate for Birkenhead at the General Election on July 4th. The late Frank Field served this community with distinction. He put the needs of the community first, and party politics second.
"Over the years since he ceased to be MP for Birkenhead, many people are telling me how they feel Labour is taking them for granted, locally and nationally."
Looking ahead to the campaign, Sarah added: "The results of the last General Election showed that while Labour won the seat, the Greens, Brexit and Liberal Democrat parties were thousands of votes behind the Conservatives and lost their deposits.
"Only a vote for the Conservatives will send a message to Labour on July 4th. A vote for the others is a wasted vote."
Questions asked by residents so far:
Q: Will you move here if elected?
A: Yes. When Frank Field was first selected, he didn't live here but he spent the years afterwards working hard across Birkenhead and getting to know the issues.
Q: I'm thinking of voting Reform and some friends are voting Green.
A: Don't waste your vote. At the last General Election, none of the smaller parties received enough votes and they all lost their deposits. The smaller parties won't win the General Election but they could split the vote - giving a landslide to Sir Keir Starmer.
