Cammell Laird wins contract for new Royal Navy frigate

BAE Type 26

In a big boost for Birkenhead, Cammell Laird has been appointed by BAE Systems to help build the new Royal Navy Type 26 Frigates.

The Type 26 is an anti-submarine warfare vessels and are being built at BAE Systems’ in Govan and using units built in Wirral.
