The latest figures show that the number of people claiming unemployment-related benefits in Birkenhead has fallen by 55 over the last 12 months.
There are now 3,030 people claiming and being supported with unemployment benefits, including those still receiving Jobseekers' Allowance or Universal Credit and required to seek work. That's down by 200 (or 6%) over the last four years, in spite of the global economic shocks caused by the pandemic and war in Ukraine.
The Government's 'Find a Job' service currently has 2,999 job vacancies across Wirral and Merseyside.
