More police
Since 2019, we have recruited 20,000 more officers, including 724 for Merseyside Police. Violent crime is down by 44% since 2010
We will do more to tackle local crime and anti-social behaviour. We will recruit another 8,000 police, with full powers of arrest, each dedicated to a named local community.
Every police force will be given the funds to introduce Hotspot Policing which has cut anti-social behaviour by half in some areas.
To tackle violence against women and girls we will toughen sentences for domestic abuse including 25-year prison terms for domestic murders.
Better, faster justice
We will toughen sentences for the worst offenders and build four more prisons, completing our programme of 20,000 new prison places by 2030.
We will remove more foreign national offenders.
We will turn more criminals away from the cycle of re-offending with more drug treatment, education and employment support.
Tackling extremism on our streets
Protests are being used as a cover for extremist disruption and criminality.
So far, 600 Just Stop Oil and Extinction Rebellion protestors have been arrested. We will introduce further powers to ban face coverings, pyrotechnics and climbing on war memorials.
We will ban protests outside schools to stop mobs from intimidating teachers and children.
We will use £54 million to give Jewish schools and synagogues the security they need.
